ZEG nominated as Finalist for Norwegian Tech Award 2024

The prestigious Norwegian Tech Award has been recognizing outstanding technological innovations and engineering solutions since 2000. This year, the excitement is building as six finalists prepare to present their groundbreaking projects on stage during the Kongsberg Agenda on June 20, 2024. An independent jury will then select the winner and present the award on the main stage in Kongsberg.

ZEG is proud to be nominated as one of the six finalists for the Norwegian Tech Award 2024. We believe this nomination is a testament to ZEG’s 20+ years of R&D efforts, resulting in the novel ZEG ICCTM technology for clean hydrogen production with integrated carbon capture. The ZEG ICCTM delivers affordable, sustainable, and reliable clean hydrogen, addressing three key challenges in the energy transition.

In 2023, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace took home the award with their NASAMS air defense system. Previous winners have included leading companies from various sectors, such as Cognite, Nordic Semiconductor, Zivid, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Disruptive Technologies, and Zaptec.

Award Criteria:

To be nominated for the Norwegian Tech Award, candidates must demonstrate an excellent engineering solution, project, or breakthrough that addresses a significant technological or societal problem. The nominated technology or solution must be primarily developed in Norway and must be documented with at least a demo installation, prototype, or completed delivery.

We look forward to the 20th of June, and we hope to see you in Kongsberg at Kongsberg Agenda!

About ZEG

ZEG develops ZEG ICCTM technology, a clean hydrogen production technology with integrated carbon capture for various end-user applications, including industry and mobility sectors. The technology is based on sorption-enhanced reforming and was originally developed at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE), a highly recognized research institute in Norway. ZEG recently opened the ZEG H1 plant at Kollsnes, Norway, which is the world’s first commercial clean hydrogen production plant with integrated carbon capture. ZEG H1 will produce approximately 1 ton of clean hydrogen per day.

ZEG’s owners include SLB, IFE Invest, Stratel, AP Ventures, Nysnø Klimainvesteringer, SPARX Mirai, StartupLab Founders Fund, Nordea Asset Management and Danske Invest.
