Management Team

Arild Selvig

Chief Executive Officer

Selvig has more than 30 years leadership experience from the energy industry, where he has been heading up strategy, R&D, M&A, and commercial activities as well as delivering turnkey solutions and services to the global market.

Selvig started his career on the E&P side working more than 10 years in Norsk Hydro O&G across the entire upstream value chain. He also has 20 years’ experience with FMC and TechnipFMC in various senior executive roles where his responsibilities recently were expanded to also include TechnipFMC’s growth initiatives within renewables such as offshore wind, hydrogen, and wave energy.

Selvig holds a MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from NTNU and master’s in technology management from NTNU/NHH/Sloan School of Management under MIT in Boston. In addition, he has a Business Administration Candidate degree from Norwegian School of Management.

Kathrine Kværnæs Ryengen

Chief Commercial Officer

Ryengen has extensive experience with technology start-ups and from commercializing innovative business models and technologies for industrial applications.

Prior to ZEG, Ryengen worked 9 years in Scatec startup companies, including Norsk Titanium, a successful, global leader within additive manufacturing of structural titanium components for aerospace applications, where she was part of the original startup team and served as VP Business Development. Prior to Scatec and Norsk Titanium, Ryengen spent a decade within the field of Technology and Management Consulting, working for various companies, including Accenture.

Ryengen holds a Master of Technology Management (MTM) from UNSW, Australia, and a Master of Industrial Economics and Mechanical Engineering from NTNU, Norway.

Jan-Tore Christiansen

CFO and Head of Business Development

Christiansen comes from a position as equity analyst in Sparebank 1 Markets. Previous engagements include extensive experience in capital management and financial analysis, amongst others from Sector Asset Management. Christiansen also has consulting experience from leading firms such as Artur Andersen/E&Y, as well as important start-up experience from founding and managing own company.

He holds a MSc degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) in addition to a CEMS Master´s degree from NHH/ESADE (Spain)

Dr. Arnstein Norheim

Chief Technology Officer

Norheim has extensive experience from technology development and upscaling of various renewable energy production process plants, as well as from project management of both innovative and commercial technology.

He has worked with a variety of thermal process technologies such as gasification, pyrolysis and combustion, in addition to electrochemistry and catalysis. Among other things, Norheim has been involved in the piloting of the ZEG technology in 2013-14, upscaling of Arbaflame’s black pellet technology, as well as upscaling and commercialization of Quantafuel’s PtL technology as the company’s CTO 2017-2018.

Norheim holds a degree in environmental physics from NMBU / DTU and a PhD in combustion engineering from NTNU.

Per Omar Melilla

Per Omar Melilla

Chief Operating Officer

Per Omar Melilla has extensive management and international experience. In much of his career, he has worked with growth challenges, improving product or project execution.

He enjoyed a 17 year long career with his previous employer Kongsberg Maritime, where he got the opportunity to lead project execution- and product management- functions as well as being responsible for Operations in Korea.

Academically he has obtained a Master degree in Technology Management from UNSW School of Business, Sydney Austrialia and a B.Sc degree in Electric Engineering from NTNU, Gjøvik Norway.

Alexandra Shabasheva

Director Legal & Contracts

Shabasheva has more than 14 years of experience from the international energy and marine industry, including TechnipFMC and EnFlow Group, where she has held various roles across Legal, Contracts and Compliance functions. Her background spans such areas as corporate governance, equity transactions, compliance, contractual risk assessment, negotiations, and dispute resolution.

 

Shabasheva holds a law degree (Cand. Jur.) from the University of Oslo.
